  My husband, daughter and I happened to be passing by the restuarant and popped in for lunch. It was a wonderful choice. The food is exceptional and the staff are so friendly we now plan on making it our regular restaurant. We live about 40 minutes away but it will be well worth the drive.

  A great little spot with friendly service and excellent food. Everything is made to order, so not the place to go if you are in a rush, and besides, one should not rush good food! Sit, relax and enjoy.
  This quaint restaurant was once a home and has been converted to a bar over the years. It is now home to this lovely bistro. The main dining area holds several tables that are quite cozy and close to each other. Despite this, I never felt as though I was distracted by conversations around us. Beyond the dining area is a darker, intimate and inviting bar area with higher tables. We were seated in the dining room but would have been just as happy in the bar area.
  
  We enjoyed the historical pictures of Dundas that adorned the walls in the bright light filled dining area. Hard to imagine horse and carriage passing by on muddy streets!!
  
  We started with a perfectly made Old Fashioned cocktail (they even had several bitter options to choose from) and we ordered a couple of shareable plates. The slider combination was excellent, offering short rib, chicken and pork belly. We agreed that the pork belly was the star of the trio. Our second plate was the fish tacos. Our server offered the choice of pan fried or breaded fish. We opted for breaded and they were lightly coated, fresh tasting and held up well in the soft taco. One of the nicest fish tacos I've had. As mentioned, the food is made to order and is worth the wait.
  We did see some mains coming out which looked fantastic. I will be back for dinner and hope the gnocchi is still on the menu.
  Overall, this is a great spot to relax and enjoy a freshly prepared meal in a warm and welcoming environment.

  King West Bistro is such a welcome addition to the Dundas food scene, and definitely my new favourite local spot! If you were a fan of Liberte, this is heads-and-tails superior - the food, the service, and the vibe are excellent (especially in the bar section). Most (if not all) of the servers are friends who also work at a Cross-Fit in Hamilton - those endorphins from exercise must account for their energy and perkiness! They really are a lovely and attentive staff who definitely contribute to the cool vibe of the place. I've tried a lot of items on the menu, and I'd suggest you always include a salad and the sliders (the pork belly slider is my favourite) so that no matter what else you order (if anything else), you'll leave satisfied. The sliders are usually my "main" because it's a substantial dish (at least for a woman). The julienne salad is a work of art (it's the dish in the dark photo) and tastes like summer - so fresh. Also always get the soup if your eyes are as big as your tummy, as it is seasonally fresh as well. I'm not a fan of seafood, but the wrapped salmon looks delicious. The hamburger is pricey but you get what you pay for - grass-fed quality meat (and it tastes great). If you're not ordering a dish that comes with fries, you should order a plate for the table. They are that good. The vegan curry dish is very flavourful and seems to get better with each bite. If you go - I mean, when you go - I'd suggest you order a bunch of different plates for the table and share everything (just to get to try so much deliciousness at one visit). I can't wait to visit for brunch!

  Friendly and attentive staff. Menu has enough variety that there is something for everyone, but it isn't so large as to take away from the quality of the food - which is excellent. Food was flavourful, fun and well presented. Pricing is quite fair. Atmosphere is relaxed and cozy. A new favourite in Dundas!
